Pittsburg Youth Academy is a Behavior Modification Program for youth between the ages of 8 and 18. We have been is existance for the past 7 years. We help youth become positive and productive citizens. We accept boys and girls. They will stay in separate faclilities.
We currently have youth coming to our program from across the United States. There are many programs out there but we truly endeavor to assist the parents with a variety of issues that they have with their child.
We have seen a variety of issues with todays children. They are disrespectful, have no regard for authority, using drugs, alcohol, and some verbally and physically abusing their parents. This would have been truly unheard of back in the day. Discipline, honor, and respect were common practices in most homes. In some cases, the parent only had to look at the child a certain way and get there attention. Now today, if a parent were to spank there child, the authorities may come in to arrest them for child abuse. This should not be. Parents are being held accountable if their child gets in trouble. They may have to pay restitution or fines, but there right to discipline there child has been taken away. It's time for parents to come together and change this. The (authorities, police, correction officers, ie) should not be the ones who end up disciplining our children.
It's truly time for a change. Pittsburg Youth Academy is part of that change. Our intervention program helps children to understand whats's wrong and right about their behavior. Parents also need to be brought up to date about issues that todays' youth are dealing with. Many adults think they know it all but times are changing. It is time for us to turn to each other-not on each other.
